We are very pleased to have been Shortlisted in the International Design & Architecture Awards for our contemporary new build house – ‘Wrap House’.
‘Wrap House’ is a highly designed and precise replacement dwelling which we commenced working on in 2017 for a family relocating from London.
The form was developed in response to the context of the site and in collaboration with our client’s desire for a house which would precisely meet their requirements.
The two opposing blocks of accommodation were designed around three axes of main circulation which form routes through the house. A central atrium between the two blocks allows light to penetrate deep into the property and connects the user with the outside in three different directions.
The protective wrap brings cohesion to the design by encapsulating the blocks, providing an architectural gesture to circulate the user to the front door and atrium space of the house as well as creating the architectural language for Wrap House.
For over a decade, The International Design & Architecture Awards, hosted by Design Et Al magazine has supported the global interior design and architecture industry and brought together an elite group of the world’s leading design names.
We are very proud to be shortlisted for the IDA awards and we are looking forward to see if ‘Wrap House’ can win the award for Best New Property later in the year.
