We were commissioned to refurbish and extend a family home on a private estate in Buckinghamshire. The brief was to update and modernise the existing detached dwelling to provide a new Kitchen and garden room. The design was modern but sympathetic to the existing house and the clients were very insistent on the new extension being modern in its design and detailing.
We choose to install a frameless glass pyramid rooflight over the Kitchen island with open corner glazed doors to bring as much natural light into the Kitchen as possible. Underfloor heating, double glazed aluminium windows and feature fireplace all combine to provide a modern feel to the new extension.
The open corner bi-fold doors allow for full access to the garden and a new patio and terrace area connect the inside with the outside to make best use of the garden during the summer months.
