Our project for Salla Kee secured Planning Approval for a new modern replacement dwelling within Little Chalfont in Buckinghamshire.
We were approached by a family to design them a new house which specifically suited their lifestyle and would allow them to grow as a family.
The site is in an amazing Green belt countryside location with wonderful views across the Chilterns AONB. Therefore we worked very closely with Chiltern Planning department to ensure the design met with all the local planning policies.
The new house is over two floors with the ground floor being very open plan and every space having connection with outside and the views.
An open car port provides an alternative design to the conventional garage and this focuses the arrival towards the front door. The entrance hall is a vaulted double height space with mezzanine study area over the entrance vestibule and a double height rear glazed window to give a large uninterrupted view and sense of connection to the outside as you enter the house.
The main hallway space then connects to different living and eating spaces which has been designed to flow, be flexible and homely for entertaining and family life.
A stair is hidden behind a feature wall which connects to the first floor and a bridge crosses the central atrium space linking both sides of the house. Five bedrooms are provided with the Master suite located towards the rear with a feature balcony and terrace with views to the AONB.
The external design was developed to be contemporary and not the usual Chiltern red brick design, with feature render, timber cladding panels and large roof overhang to create a unique residential design.
We are looking forward to seeing the project develop and realised on site.
