We worked for a developer on the complete refurbishment of an existing five storey London town house within a terrace street in Chelsea. Set behind a Victorian façade the property balanced period elegance with modern living. The existing house was opened up to create new open plan living spaces affording an abundance of natural light and a spacious interior, as well as being sympathetically restored to create a modern five bedroom family house.
We retained large proportioned double aspect reception rooms to the raised ground floor and created an extended lower basement floor to create one large open plan Kitchen, living and eating space which opened out onto the courtyard garden through contemporary sliding doors. To the upper floors five air conditioned bedrooms with family bathrooms and en-suites were created to offer over 3,300 sqft of accommodation.
The house is located in the Boltons conservation area and once planning permission was secured for the development works, a management construction approach was adopted. The property was well received by the developer clients and is now occupied by a new family.
