South Park House is located within the Gerrards Cross Centenary Conservation Area and locally listed as a house of special architectural interest. This meant that any works or improvements has to be sympathetic to the original Arts and Crafts style.
We designed and achieved full planning and Conservation Area approval for a series of new extensions and refurbishment works all in keeping with the Arts and Crafts style.
The house has many wonderful original features and our design and new layout retains this character but importantly creates a new family home with a modern open plan Kitchen and living space. This new extension is modern in design which provides a sympathetic contrast to the existing house and importantly makes the most of the amazing garden.
A new large basement sits below the new rear extension providing additional living spaces for a gym, cinema room and family area.
A new side two storey extensions allows the first floor bedroom accommodation to flow better creating master and guest bedroom suites. We also proposed an upgrade of the existing house improving the energy efficiency of the property.
The design of the new extensions has been undertaken to fit within the setting of the existing house and it’s immediate neighbours. Most importantly the proposals are considered to be at an appropriate scale, massing, height and design to enable South Park House to maintain it’s prominent and elevated status within the Conservation Area.
We are looking forward to developing this project further and hope to be on site in the very near future.
