We have completed the extension and refurbishment of a previously vacant property which is located in Burnham Beeches woodland. Burnham Beeches is a Site of Scientific Interest as well as being in the Buckinghamshire Green Belt.
We devised a scheme to maximise the allowable additional square footage of the Green Belt as well as being sympathetic to the Burnham Beeches SSI. This consisted of a side two storey extension and single storey rear extension. The side extension enabled a new front door to the property as well as additional Utility and cloakroom areas, plus a study and bedroom accommodation on the first floor.
The existing property was stripped back to a bare shell and reconstructed with new insulated concrete floors, external wall insulation and roof insulation. This enabled the house to be heated with an Air Source Heat pump.
A feature glazed skylight was introduced the new stair which bathes all areas and floors with natural light.
